Tracy Tracy is the stage name of Tracy McShane, an English singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the 1980s alternative rock band The Primitives. Formed in 1985 in Coventry, England, The Primitives became prominent in the burgeoning jangle pop and indie pop scenes. Their music is characterized by catchy melodies, jangly guitars, and a blend of pop and punk influences. The band's most notable works include their debut album, "Lovely," released in 1988, which features the hit single "Crash." This song reached the UK Top 5 and gained international recognition, helping to define the sound of the era. The Primitives' follow-up, "Lovely," solidified their status with tracks like "Stop Killing Me." Tracy Tracy's distinctive voice and charismatic presence contributed significantly to the band's appeal.
